Conversations with Julia

Nanay and I were talking about something.  I think it was about her dress for an upcoming wedding wherein she’s one of the ninangs.  She said that she needs to wear a specific type of dress because she’s fat or mataba. Iya interrupts and said..

Iya:  Di ka mataba lola
Lola:  E ano ba ako?
I:  Sexy…
pero matanda

Nanay was being given a massage. Iya got up from her play tent, held her lola’s bra, and said..

I:  Ay.. Bakit ako walang bra?
N:  Gusto mo ba?
I:  Yes
N:  San tayo bibili?
I:  Sa Periwinkle. Dun sa binibilhan ko ng damit
N:  Kanino ka magpapabili
I:  Kay Lolo

She’s becoming inquisitive on girly things.  Her lola bought a set of make-up brushes.  She wanted to try it on her.  She was still the whole time.  She closes her eyes for eye shadow application and mascara, she opens her mouth for lipstick application.  Ofcourse all this is a secret from her tatay who will definitely say no.

L:  San ba tayo bibili ng make-up?
I:  Sa toy kingdom
L:  Papayagan ka ba ng tatay mo?
I:  Share nalang tayo dito lola? (refering to the make-up set)

This morning, while we are on our way to Nanay’s house,  she said she wanted to go to Toy Kingdom.

I:  Gusto ko pumunta sa Toy Kingdom.
N:  Ano gagawin mo dun?
I:  Lalakad lang di ako papasok dun sa loob
N:  San ka maglalakad?
I:  Sa mall lang maglalakad, sa labas ng Toy Kingdom.

Such a mall rat!

We were watching the news featuring the 50th anniversary of Disneyland.

I:  Punta tayo sa kay Mickey!
N:  Asan ba si Mickey?
I:  Sa Disneyland
N:  Kelan tayo pupunta?
I:  Bukas
N:  Payag ka ba gamitin natin yung pera mo sa banko?
I:  Yes
N:  E pano yon? para sa school mo yon eh
I:  Wag na bayad sa school sa Disneyland nalang
